Interviews Gone Terribly Wrong

When things like this happen on the air live, and you're in front of your TV watching, it's not too fun, in fact...it's pretty uncomfortable. But it's always a gas after time has passed.

The Andrew Dice Clay CNN Interview. Wow.

Our 2nd Interview Gone Terribly Wrong:

These Australian TV fools had no idea what was in store for them. It was the morning "Sunrise" show.

(We'd post the youtube videos here but we just shouldn't. You just picture Mr. Curtis, our founder, and you go...."naaaaaaah".)

2008 Childrens Promise Chapel Hill Photos

Uncomfortable Moment of The day

This is Darius Rucker of Hootie & The Blowfish except it's now just Darius and he's a country singer. He did a very nice set at the hospital around 6:30 and we avoided him a little because we had just chosen "Hootie & The Blowfish" as our Bad Band Name of the Day a little earlier. We didn't know Hootie would show up and not that he heard it on the air but still...he walked right by us and we kind of just....avoided him. Salt & D had him on the air though. 2-1 they told him.

Anus

Another reminder.

DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES LOOK UP "ANUS" UNDER WIKIPEDIA!

There are things you won't want to see.

In other events for the F&B Show for Friday...we talked with Slash of Velvet Revolver and Guns N Roses and he now requests what we ask and don't ask in interviews.

Who remembers this killer tv ad with Slash from last year. It was for First Act guitars. Awesome stuff.

Mitch Mitchell

Mitch Mitchell of The Jimi Hendrix Experience died in Portland, Oregon last night. You talk about one of the best rock drummers ever.

We played "Fire" and "Manic Depression" and segued them together...no station identifiers or talking in between...those two songs did a REAL good job of showcasing what this cat could do.

This guy is a good reason why rock is king.

RIP 1947-2008

Arse

It ended up being an informative discussion about other words you could use on the air instead of "ass" because that word could offend.

Disqualified submissions from the get-go from friends of the show:
  • rectum
  • sphincter
  • bunghole

(these words describe the hole, not the butt)

We like these:

  • can
  • bum bottoms (Spinal Tap)
  • but the best word of all is surely "ass"

And finally the poor misguided boy that was told a butt was called this by his grandmother:

show audio chime in: that's what my granny called it!

DO NOT LOOK UP "ANUS" IN WIKI-PEDIA!!! YOU'LL SEE THINGS THAT MIGHT RUIN YOUR DAY!!

7 Ridiculous Ways To Die On A Golf Course: Pt2

A French golfer was so hacked off at missing three straight putts, he threw his entire bag into the lake and then he realized his keys were in the bag...so he jumped into the lake to get his bag and drowned. Supposedly he said "I'm going down for the keys but I'm leaving my clubs down there."

Maybe he didn't say that...but it makes a better story. Haha.

Update: Foster & The Blade Quote Of The Year Standings

Josh Hamilton In The House

Josh Hamilton will be back in town for a while...he has a baseball camp and concert he is promoting this week-it was real good to see him again after a few years.

We told him how it was kind of cool to have someone that is almost as famous as Clay Aiken from Raleigh. Of course he snorted about that.

Friday Massage

We are men of our word of course. Here is the proof as Robin Fox makes good on the bet we owed her since Florida St. was too much for NC State last Thursday night.

A full body massage from Massage Envy, the preferred massage therapists of the Foster & The Blade program.

If NC State had won, you would have heard your traffic reports in her bikini. What good would that have done you the listener? Zero.

What good would it have done US? Whole 'nuther story.

Below...a consolation prize she rendered us.

Thursday, October 16, 2008

Oh Well

Disappointment. Disappointment all around.

Robin Fox, our traffic girl made the bet that she'd do the traffic reports in her bikini live from her Traffic Center if NC State beat Florida State and it almost happened, but it didn't happen.

Florida State won 26-17.

Boooooo!!!!

Since she won the bet...she'll receive a massage from the Foster & The Blade massage therapists of choice, Massage Envy for Friday. This would have been hilarious because in her live traffic center, there are about 15 old men around her working, so we DEFINITELY had the cameras ready...there will be other bets, take it to the bank.

A bonus shot from traffic girl anyway...it would be funnier with the old men around her in the office, but whatever.

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

The Bet

Here's the bet:

If NC State beats Florida St. on Thursday night at Carter Finley...Robin Fox gets to do her traffic reports in her bikini. If Florida State wins...she'll get a full body massage from massage envy, the preferred massage therapists of Foster & The Blade.

Fair enough. We'll update you on Thursday afternoon.

Foster & The Blade Statement

We here at Foster & The Blade have issued a statement in regards to the totally true, thoroughly researched, and factually accurate accusations from 96rock morning show hosts Salt & Demetri The Greek about us in their recent ad campaign for VP of 96rock.

Foster & The Blade Statement

Yes...we dragged Tracey Early into it. We had to. There's no taking the high road with this morning show...we have to take the low road because they have their facts correct. It's what any politician worth his "Salt" would do.

Other On Air Resignations

We talked about this guy from Jacksonville who quit on the air just after he found out they were going to fire him so he jumps all over Cox Broadcasting and even threw out the names of some of the suits that were responsible for his firing. It gets cut off at the end. Funny.

That was funny and all but the all time on-air resignation mp3 is

Inetta the Mood Setta...we believe she is out of Mobile, Ala.

We talked about these resignations and compared them to Blade's , and we agreed that both were way funnier and entertaining than his. What's funny about Blade's is that he waited around and listened to The Who "The Song is Over" until they cut it off...THEN he walked out.
The movie FM was kind of like a DJ resigning on-air, but not really. The DJ's lock themselves up in the studio and play music and no commercials in rebellion to the new management that wants more commercials and less music. Cheese but a classic.

HR Meeting Review

Blade's HR meeting finally happened at 11:30 today. A review of it's contents follows:

It was a "progressive discipline"meeting...dealing with job-related behavior that does not meet expected and communicated performance standards. This is to assist employees to understand that a "performance problem or opportunity for improvement " exists.

This was an "opportunity for improvement" meeting.

In concern to comments made on the air concerning women, there are 4 forms of offensive behavior to women.

Verbal-sexual innuendos, suggestive comments, insults, etc
Non-Verbal-suggestive sounds like whistling, leering, "catcalls", or suggestive bodily gestures.
Visual-Posters, calendars, signs or pinups of sexual nature.
Physical-touching, unwelcome hugging, pinching, etc.

Side Question: How many of those forms apply to dropping
trou?

Answer: Three of the four excepting the"verbal" form unless a
word like "toots" or a phrase like "how do you like THEM apples" is
applied.

HR couldn't verify which comment or how many were in question. But we know.

The 96rock DJ's have officially started vying for the prestigious job of Vice President of 96rock.

The Wailers

A few of the original Wailers were in town for a show at The Lincoln Theatre and Jr. Marvin and "Al" came by and played "The Redemption Song" for us before they unloaded at the Lincoln.

A reggae guy from Jamaica called "Al".

Just seems like he should be called something like "Dippy" or "Toots" or "I-Mara".

After the show we had dinner with our consultant. We talked about the show and ate European food. He's got one of those iPhones or something and we went over the Thursday show which was fairly uninspiring. If the show was uninspiring, you can imagine how the consultation went...we disected the entire Thursday show and the words "blah blah blah" were used a lot.

things with you and
ask you about some things you guys might have said
