Bruce Springsteen

Yesterday Foster dipped out around 4:30 to head up to Greensboro with just about the whole airstaff for the Bruce Springsteen concert...Adam 12, BT, Fat Tim, Stylez...Little Steven Van Zant of the E Street Band gave us these tickets that were choice. On the side one level up...one section out-perfect.

Here's the 4:20 Smokebreak from Bruce-surely one of the best live versions of this song done live by the man. It's live in New York City in 2001

Hal Sparks

We left the building at 3:30 Friday to head to Walnut Creek for the live broadcast of the kickoff of the Summer Concert Season with Widespread Panic. We needed a long one to allow time to get there before the dreaded dead air.

VH1's Hal Sparks dropped by and talked about Kiss. Ummm...he's a big fan.

Rikky Rockett

Well...Laurie called up today looking for backstage passes for the Brett Michaels show at High Five. She told us a fun story.

How she shagged Rikky Rockett of Poison back in 1987. She lives here now. She and two other girlfriends ran into Poison at a hotel in Germany when they were 17...one hooked up with Brett Michaels, one hooked up with C.C. DeVille and this one with Rikky Rockett.

This one didn't care which one she bagged...none of her girlfriends did either, so that was cool. We think they used comdoms but we don't REALLY know. Here's a quickie Rikki Rockett interview.

Tonya Harding

Foster is out in Reno catching Van Halen so that he may report back with how they sound so we can re-excite ourselves for the rescheduled-postponed-canceled-rescheduled date May 5th here in Raleigh. Eddie's medical leave was supposedly due to an inner ear infection.

And another item:

Somebody emailed us the Tonya Harding karaoke audio from a few nights ago.

This week and next: Which Poison member ****** up???

Let us know which band member was responsible for the Poison mess-up of the day and you get tickets for the Brett Michaels Block Party Concert Thursday night at High Five in Raleigh.

David Lee Roth Interview

Foster is heading out to Reno tomorrow night for a scouting report on Van Halen...they're back again and the unofficial reason they were out was because Eddie Van Halen had an inner ear infection. Foster had the following observation.

Here is the interview with David Lee Roth who is always fun to talk with. His interviews are pretty weird but whatever.

It was work shadow day and our work shadow was James McNadden...13 years old from Martin Middle School in Raleigh...the first thing he sees is left over beers from the World Beer Festival lady who came by yesterday. Dude-don't tell your teachers about this. Your dad probably won't mind...just don't tell the work shadow people...it will make us look bad. hahahahaha.

Govt Mule and Torry Holt

We had Warren Haynes of Govt Mule and The Allman Brothers on today. It's our opportunity to catch an update on Audley Freed who is a Raleigh guy. Audley was out there with Cry Of Love, The Black Crowes and above all...Jimmy Page when he was out with the Crowes in 2000. Warren also talks freely of Greg Allman's hepatitus C treatment period, which is happening now.

Also talked with Torry "Big Game" Holt of the St. Louis Rams
He and brother Terence will be in for the Holt Brothers Celebrity Golf Classic April 20th and 21st at Brier Creek-this golf outing is a cancer benefit...his mother had cancer.

Dark Side Of The Dead

Item#1

The Pink Floyd/Grateful Dead Tribute Band did our 420 Smokebreak live on the air Friday afternoon...they did Pink Floyd's "Breathe" but they left all bummed out because they said they were off key...but we loved it.

They had a six piece band in there and we feel bad because they weren't happy with their performance...that has happened so many times in the past...bands play live in the studio and it has to be perfect for them to be happy. The ironic part is...the tune-up was almost perfect...this is their practice of "Breathe" that wasn't live.

Item #2

David Brenner of the Tonight Show fame was in town at Goodnights and he talked with us for about an hour and we weren't sure how to handle him...

but he liked to talk so he told us about the 1st night for him on The Johnny Carson Show.
